Meeting Presentation:

Discovering bias in the valuation process

Presented by Matthew J. Cahill, President, Percipio Company

Description: Cognitive biases reside in the 99+% of how we unconsciously process information at any given moment. Most of the time, they serve us very well. Understanding when they don’t is key to improving our decisions, relationships, and organizations. We introduce a common language that differentiates between various types of bias. Through a process of self-reflection & discovery, we strengthen workplace relationships by identifying the hidden (and not-so-hidden) biases that are impacting business decisions.

By the end of the workshop, participants will:

• Deepen their understanding of Unconscious Bias.

• Understand how UB affects interactions & relationships.

• Understand the 5 most common cognitive biases in the workplace.

• Define and deliver mitigation strategies for each.

To get started, please take 4-6 minutes to complete the unconscious bias assessment. We will use the results to accelerate the conceptual overview during the workshop.

Matthew Cahill has built a consulting and coaching practice based upon the belief that if you have a brain, you have bias®! Matthew excels at meeting people where they are on this life-long journey of self-reflective discovery and moves organizations from bias to belonging®. I highly recommend you spend some time with Matthew to learn how bias is impacting your bottom line. Please welcome, Matthew Cahill.
