About Bharat Kanodia, ASA

Bharat Kanodia has been a seasoned valuation expert with over two decades of experience, having appraised more than 4,000 companies and global assets valued at $3.5 trillion—including Uber, the Atlanta Airport, the Brooklyn Bridge, and Las Vegas casinos. As an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), he is recognized for his expertise in financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic business growth. Currently serving as Senior Managing Director at Suncorp Valuations, Bharat leads industrial valuation operations across North America. Previously, he founded Veristrat LLC, advising venture capital and private equity firms, and served as Director of Global Valuations at IHS Markit, expanding valuation services worldwide. Beyond his professional achievements, he is dedicated to advancing the appraisal profession, having served on ASA’s Northern California/Nevada Chapter Board since 2017, including as Chapter President when the chapter won ASA’s ‘Chapter of the Year’ award in 2021. He also chairs ASA’s Rising Stars Program, focusing on mentorship and retention of young appraisers. A recognized thought leader, Bharat has written over 100 articles for Inc. Magazine, spoken at more than 40 conferences worldwide, and serves as the Executive Producer of TEDxPleasanton. As a candidate for ASA’s Board of Governors, he is committed to strengthening ASA’s membership, expanding global education, and equipping appraisers to thrive in an evolving industry.

What contributions have you provided ASA as a member or to a comparable organization(s)?

As an ASA member for 20+ years, I have actively contributed to the organization’s growth and engagement. I serve as Chair of the Rising Stars Program, where I have focused on mentorship, education, and retention of young appraisers—a critical initiative as fewer than 15% of ASA members are under 40. I also helped launch the Rising Stars Award and Coffee with Legends networking series to foster leadership development. As a Board Member of the ASA Northern California/Nevada Chapter (since 2017) and Chapter President (2020–2021), I led the chapter to win ASA’s ‘Chapter of the Year’ award in 2021 by organizing 24 educational and networking events, more than any other chapter combined. Beyond ASA, I contribute to the profession through Inc. Magazine, where I have published
100+ articles on valuations and business strategy, and as Executive Producer of TEDxPleasanton, facilitating thought leadership discussions. I am committed to continuing my efforts to strengthen ASA’s membership, expand educational opportunities, and elevate the profession.

What do you wish for ASA?

I wish for ASA to be the undisputed leader in the appraisal profession, setting the standard for excellence, ethics, and innovation. ASA should continue to elevate the visibility and credibility of appraisers worldwide, ensuring our members are recognized as the foremost experts in their fields. As the profession evolves with technological advancements, regulatory changes, and shifting market dynamics, I want ASA to lead the charge in adapting education, resources, and advocacy to keep appraisers ahead of the curve. Expanding global partnerships, educational outreach, and member engagement will be key to strengthening ASA’s influence. Additionally, I want ASA to address the profession’s aging demographic by attracting and mentoring young talent. Without a strong pipeline of future appraisers, the profession risks decline. By fostering the next generation, ASA can secure its legacy and leadership for decades to come.

Why should members vote for you?

ASA members should vote for me because I am deeply committed to the organization’s growth, member engagement, and the future of the appraisal profession. With over two decades in valuation, I have
appraised 4,000+ companies worth $3.5 trillion and have led global teams, advised firms, and built valuation businesses. As an ASA Northern California/Nevada Chapter Board Member and past Chapter

President, I helped the chapter win ASA’s ‘Chapter of the Year’ award in 2021 by organizing 24+ events, strengthening member engagement, and mentoring young appraisers. As Chair of the Rising Stars Program, I have worked to develop and retain the next generation of appraisers, ensuring ASA’s long- term success. I bring vision, leadership, and a track record of action. If elected, I will focus on expanding education, increasing member value, and positioning ASA as the leading voice in the valuation profession. I would be honored to serve and represent our members.
