The Class of Fellows is the highest honor the society confers for outstanding service to ASA, upholding the profession with consistent professionalism and making lasting contributions to the Valuation practice. Plus, some words of wisdom and advice from Garret to our newer members on their path to success.
About 16 years ago, I attended an ASA NorCal Chapter Board of Directors meeting to learn more about what the chapter was doing and how I might help. Within a year, I was serving on the Chapter Board, and a few years later I had the honor of serving as Chapter President. That local chapter involvement led to broader service within ASA, eventually including as ASA International President, and I have now been elevated to Fellow and welcomed into ASA’s College of Fellows.
Much of my growth as an appraiser and as an ASA leader traces back to the networking, education, and encouragement I found through the NorCal Chapter. One of my earliest and most important ASA experiences was a seminar hosted by the chapter, and the leadership opportunities that followed were only possible because I first had the chance to serve local members on the NorCal Chapter Board.
It is an honor to be recognized as a Fellow of ASA. I am grateful to the NorCal Chapter Board and to the many peers, colleagues, and friends within the chapter whose support and encouragement have meant so much over the years.
